Olivia joined Maitland in September 2024 following the successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Jonathan Allcock, Gabriella McNicholas, Tim Calland, and Oliver Phillips. She is developing a broad commercial chancery practice and accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ practice areas, including Commercial Litigation & Arbitration, Civil Fraud, Insolvency & Asset Recovery, Offshore & Trusts, and Company & Partnership.

Olivia received a first-class undergraduate degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics & Political Science, where she placed top of her year in modules spanning diplomacy, history, and international political theory. 

She subsequently completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at City University of London and the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, obtaining both with Distinction and as a scholar of Gray’s Inn. During the Bar Course, Olivia was a prizewinner at the prestigious Times Law Awards for her essay on the ability of private parties to recover reparations from aggressor states.

Before coming to the Bar, Olivia was a Senior Associate at Sard Verbinnen & Co., a global strategic communications firm based in New York, where she specialised in crisis management, cross-border transactions, and shareholder activism. She gained particular experience advising companies facing reputational challenges in the context of wider geopolitical developments and the COVID-19 pandemic, which lends a commercial fluency to her work.
